In addition to my role as a marriage and family therapist, I bring a unique specialization to my practice—sports therapy.
Step into to a calm, welcoming space where our conversations embody the comfort of shared moments. Taking this first step on your mental health journey is admirable, and I'm here to guide you through life's challenges. Life is too short to have to carry the weight of stressors, anxiety, depression, conflict, or navigating complicated relationships. My goal is to help you discover your purpose and thrive, because you deserve the happiness life has to offer.

Accepting New Clients! I am an EMDR trained therapist. If anxiety is preventing you from enjoying your life and you're wondering if you can ever escape it- the answer is yes! The first sentence in Scott Peck’s timeless book The Road Less Traveled is “life is difficult”. Such a simple grouping of words and yet so insightful. When we understand and accept that life is difficult, we have taken the first step on the road towards healing. Traveling this road can be more manageable and less scary if someone walks alongside us offering encouragement or a different perspective. I can be this resource for you.

Mental Health plays a vital role in performance. As a healthcare professional and former collegiate soccer player, I understand the unique pressures and challenges we face in highly stressful professional roles and as competitive athletes. The demands and expectations to succeed, both from ourselves and others, can sometimes drive us to a breaking point. Learning to manage and cope with these demands is my goal at Bridging the Gap CC.

I have evening & weekend openings to avoid missing school & sports.
Are you a parent concerned about your teens shift in behavior or mood? You may be confused whether it is "regular teen" stuff or something more. You miss your happy, carefree child and wonder if they will ever enjoy life again. Imagine what it would be like for them to have their confidence back and skills to manage difficult situations and emotions in the future. Your teen would feel better about themselves and parents could breath easier knowing their children have the skills to cope and know when and how to ask for help. Life transitions are hard, whether it's going to or graduating from college. It's okay to ask for help.

Waitlist for new clients
In 2018, I obtained a specialization in Sports Counseling to combine my passion of sports and personal experience as a high level athlete- I work with injury, performance anxiety & self-doubt.
I want to hear your story. You know... the story of getting in trouble in elementary school, your first major accomplishment, when your parents split up, the first time you fell in love, the career path you're currently questioning, and what it feels like to age. The official line: I am a therapist has a wide background in the mental health field. The human line: I believe connection and vulnerability takes courage. This life shit is hard. Through the power of sharing your story and myself as a passenger in your journey, we can make life feel, well, less like you're losing the battle and more like you're the hero of your story.

Sports Performance Therapists

How does sports psychology work?

Sports psychology helps athletes identify and overcome challenges, such as perfectionism or a fear of failure, and improve key mental skills, such as confidence or concentration. By applying principles and techniques from psychology, such as goal-setting, visualization, positive self-talk, and emotion regulation, sports psychologists help athletes improve their performance on the field and their well-being overall.

How long does treatment for a sports-related problem take?

The duration of sports psychology treatment depends on the athlete’s individual challenges, goals, the complexity of the interventions used, and even on the length of the season. A performance anxiety issue may be treated with a short-term treatment, like Cognitive behavioural therapy, while issues such as depression, substance abuse, or severe anxiety may require longer-term treatments.

How effective is treatment for sports performance problems?

Sports psychology has been shown to improve performance and help athletes manage their emotions. Sports psychology can be effective in boosting performance, team dynamics, and injury rehabilitation. Over the past decade, nearly every professional sports team in every major sport has added a sports psychologist to its staff. Many colleges have done the same, and even some high school programs have done the same. Olympic hopefuls may consult with sports psychologists starting in elementary school.

What are the limitations of sports psychology?

Sports psychology may have several limitations. Every athlete is unique and may respond differently to sports psychology treatments. Therapy can help an athlete reach their potential; it can help athletes cope with injury and pain, but it cannot change the physical limitations that may be affecting an athlete’s performance.
