As a former Division I Athlete and US National Team Member, I believe that one of the bravest things we can do is learning how to love ourselves through the process of owning our own storying. Often times the first brave step is just reaching out. Society tends to view therapy as something you need if you have “failed” on your own. However, I tend to think the counseling process is one where we invite someone else to walk alongside us on our journey of figuring out who we are. I believe that as humans we are designed for relationship, and we aren’t intended to do and figure it all out alone.

Life challenges, heartbreak, confusion, and pain can keep us from living and growing well. I believe holistic, multidimensional care—relational, emotional, somatic, and spiritual—moves us towards the fullness of life we were meant for. Through the lens of narrative focused trauma care, attachment theory, and somatic approaches, it would be an honor to join you on your journey towards experiencing hope, healing, and wholeness.

That is why I provide an ease about coming to therapy and attempt to make my clients feel comfortable beginning this process. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults helping them get through difficult transitions in their lives. I do a lot of work challenging people to explore their aggression, self-harming behaviors, drugs and alcohol use, suicidal ideations, depression and anxiety. I also enjoy working with adults dealing with life transitions and helping them improve their moods and perspectives on life.

I want to offer you more than traditional talk therapy, I want to offer you a space to find an inner connection with your mind, body, and soul through exploring emotions, sensations, dreams and the things left unspoken. Sometimes if we skip over our emotions, our bodies will express them through symptomology, and navigating immune sensitivities is complicated. My hope is that the therapy room becomes an experiential space where you hash out what it feels like to engage in safety, connection, resonating with another person. We can navigate this through somatic based EMDR, applied polyvagal, somatic experiencing.

No matter how big or how small, your struggle is valid. So often guys walk into the office thinking they need to carry around everything as if their pain is a badge of honor. You don’t have to carry everything. You don’t have to be alone in your struggle. It is ok to ask for help. Therapy can be a place where you come to learn more about the “why you do what you do” or it can be a place where you can talk without being judged or even fixed. I want to be a part of ushering in a new age of males. Ones that are willing to understand who they are. Ones that are willing to deal with their pain, so others don’t take the brunt.
