I am an empathetic and practical therapist who helps adults and adolescents address anxiety, depression, stress, career and sports performance issues, and relationship issues in a thoughtful, emotionally sensitive, and logical way. I work to establish a strong and supportive therapeutic partnership to help clients better understand themselves and the experiences they are going through, and develop a skill set to address current and future challenges. My work as a therapist is informed by my 20 years of experience in the education field as a teacher and principal and as an athletic coach at the college, high school and club level.

As an eating disorder specialist I work with people in all stages of their recovery. I am certified in Intuitive Eating and practice a non-diet approach to recovery. I strongly believe that movement can be a part of recovering from negative body image, eating disorders or disordered eating. In treating a whole person by using an interpersonal method of psychotherapy or psychoanalysis we can uncover some underlying causes for the struggles you may be going through. My passion is helping athletes recover from disordered eating to unlock their full potential and helping families create happy eating experiences at home.

I believe in an integrative approach to healing and work with teens and adults. My approach is a collaborative process that is nonjudgemental, practical, and rooted in mindfulness. Together, we will identify life stressors and gain insight into the mind-body connection as well as thought and behavioral patterns. I have experience working in a variety of areas, including illness, grief, depression, anxiety, and life changes. I love working with athletes and have a robust Mindful Athlete program.

I’ve been a Psychotherapist for 13+ years with experience in relational work and working from a trauma-informed lens. I am Certified in EMDR therapy, which can be utilized to address anxiety, panic, depression, trauma, and a number of other concerns.

It is not easy being a parent, partner, earner or individual in the fast paced, competitive world of northern NJ and NYC. We can feel anxious, depressed, uncertain or lost in how we think and feel about ourselves, our relationships, our families, and our professional lives. I enjoy an eclectic mix of modalities in addition to psychotherapy (talk therapy) ranging from play therapy, meditation, and mindfulness, dance movement therapy, ecotherapy, and art therapy. Every client is unique and I believe that the therapeutic experience should be as well.
