Our goal is to empower you to reach your optimal health and lead a life that is balanced and enriched from the inside out. After 22 years of experience in mental health and wellness, first as a community mental health counselor and now as a psychologist, I have adopted an integrative approach to mental health, one that utilizes our tools of assessment to clearly identify your strengths, followed by the development of an individualized plan to include various modalities to help you reach your optimal potential.

I am a Professional Counselor, Family Life Educator, and a Certified Hypnotherapist. I have offices in Ohio and Michigan. My practice is dedicated to offering caring services for individuals and couples of all ages. As a counselor I work from an eclectic theoretical framework, utilizing therapeutic techniques from a variety of evidence based practices in order to help you gain control of your life. In therapy we will work together to develop real, usable skills to help you move through your difficulties.

I strongly believe in the strength, courage, and power of each individual to reach their fullest potential. My ideal client is motivated and open to learning that they do not have to live in their suffering. I love working with individuals who are mired down by anxiety and are seeking a better way to cope. We have many tools that can be utilized including hypnosis, guided imagery, relaxation techniques, CBT and many others. In addition, I have a passion for working with Women and Women's issues of self-esteem, self-worth, anxiety issues/IBS, weight issues, assertiveness skill building, boundary setting and transitions.

My passion is helping those heal naturally. I have DBT training (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and my theoretical view is Behavioral therapy working with spirituality, meditation and mindful practices to help achieve an elevated level of healing.

I have years of experience working with youth, adolescents and their families dealing with a range of issues from juvenile delinquency, substance abuse and trauma. I have developed professionalism and discipline form my time in the U.S. Army, and have extensive experience in education and coaching. I have spent years helping youth academically, athletically and socially. I have worked with the offender populations and have demonstrated a safe and caring space for this marginalized group. In addition, I have worked with victims of abuse, and have created a safe, caring empathetic place for them to process their concerns. My experience has allowed me to develop the unique ability to bridge the gap between, offender/victim, teacher/student, caregiver/child, felon/community and individual/system. I work with adults and teens, building skills and laying down new pathways for dealing with relationship struggles, inner conflict, loss, developmental crises, and identity concerns. I consult with parents of children of all ages, guiding them in helping their kids live less painful, more fulfilling lives. I help people who grapple with anger, sadness, anxiety, and feelings of emptiness or despair. I help my patients learn to be mindful and nonjudgmental in their awareness of thoughts, feelings, and the many motivations that lead to sometimes difficult behaviors. I also offer a mindfulness in parenting class.

I am here to help people ages 10 and up, navigate problems that can take the joy out of life. I use brain based strategies along with a strengths-based healing approach to tap into each person's own ability to overcome life’s challenges. I have experience working with those who are suffering with symptoms of anxiety and depression, or who may be struggling with spiritual issues, low self-esteem, ADHD, marital and family dysfunction, and/or trauma.

I began my journey towards the art of healing through therapy after working in community mental health where I recognized how active listening matched with providing tools of healing and hope helped to change people's lives. I believe that individuals have the potential within themselves to discover their own healing journey. My therapeutic style is eclectic, utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused care, narrative therapy and solution-focused therapy. I believe that I bring a unique voice of care in working with survivors of sexual violence and human trafficking.
