No matter who we are, our relationships influence and mold our experience of life. We all have a desire to create and maintain deep connections to our families, spouse, children, and friends that help sustain us during our challenges and storms and lift us higher during the joys and peaks. For most of us, though, that process is difficult and not without pitfalls. As a marriage and family therapist, I keep in mind the importance of relationships and how they affect and shape all of us. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, primarily working with individual adults, although I have experience serving children and couples as well. My specialties are trauma, anxiety, depression and pain management. I use a variety of treatment modalities including: CBT, person-centered, behavioral relaxation training, and EMDR, depending on the needs of the individual.

Couples caught in marital gridlock experience either emotional bickering and blaming or withdrawal and isolation. Marital gridlock can be caused by a betrayal, control issues, a lack of intimacy or important personality differences. This will leave us with a married life of emotional isolation and confusion.
