I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience in working with adolescents, adults, and families who have experienced trauma and loss. I have worked in a variety of settings, including home-based therapy and outpatient therapy. I have specialized knowledge in working with adoption and trauma.

Lives Transforming is a Christian counseling service that offers a grace based environment, free of judgement, to help clients find spiritual and mental health. We have a number of counselors that specialize in different areas but our most prominent counseling areas are marriage and family, adolescents, anxiety, and addiction.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Bible and Religion from Anderson University. I completed my master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Indiana Wesleyan University. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. Additionally, I have post-graduate training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have worked in residential facilities for at-risk youth, schools, prisons, churches and private practices.

I'm excited to work with individuals, couples, and families who are interested in discovering more about themselves and their relationships. These discoveries can be used to bring positive changes in the lives of adults, adolescents, and children who are finding new ways to manage today's issues and build strategies for a healthy future.

Do you feel a sense of hopelessness and disconnection in your relationships? It is possible to restore hope, peace, and deep, loving bonds again. I specialize in helping individuals, couples and families strengthen connection by stopping the endless cycles of negativity that disconnect them and cause hopelessness so they can identify their underlying emotions and unmet attachment needs. Once connection is felt and hopelessness reduced, they find freedom and safety to work on creating healthy patterns of interaction again.

I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, couples and families who are facing challenges that affect their quality of life. I see individuals who struggle with anger, anxiety, depression and mood swings, which may be coupled with addictive thinking or behaviors, to help find calm amidst the chaos in one's life. I believe couples are a system, yet individually bring their own pain that is transmitted to one's partner. I am committed to helping couples transform their own pain with the support of their partner to be available to the joys of a committed partnership.

I will empathize with your struggles, help you to think differently, nurture insight, but also warmly challenge you to grown beyond your struggles. Life is an opportunity to learn and grow. I'd love to join you in the process. I use a cognitive behavioral approach to therapy but I am informed by insight. I also do coaching. I have worked extensively with children, adolescents and adults. I may also begin doing assessments for the appropriateness of spinal stimulation.

I have been working with individuals and couples for 20 years. Many of the clients I see suffer from depression, anxiety, work issues, and relationship issues (including communication problems, feeling disconnected, infidelity, and divorce). I help clients find new ways of coping, seeing and thinking, and relating. Although I am knowledgable and skilled in several therapeutic methods, I don't believe in "one-size-fits-all" therapy. Instead, I adapt my treatment plan to meet the needs, goals, and personality of each client.

One of my greatest passions is to embrace ourselves where we are, while also committing to change. I firmly believe that our capacity for joy relates to how we move through suffering and difficult emotions. I serve clients who struggle with long term emotional distress or who have crisis issues in their lives. Clients motivated to understand the conscious and unconscious forces and meanings that shape their experience and their relationships are specially suited to the work I do. I work from the perspective of intersubjective psychoanalytic theory and object relations theory. I am an Accredited Practitioner in Mentalization Based Psychotherapy with Personality Disorders through the British Psychoanalytic Council.
