Seeking therapy is an acknowledgment that something is in the way of living and expressing yourself fully. Together, we will work to understand the inner processes and unconscious forces that influence and limit you. This will include developing a dialogue with your interior world, and discovering what your patterns, symptoms and challenges are trying to tell you. Ultimately, the goal is to live with more imagination, joy, and freedom. Areas to explore may include anxiety and depression; grief; relational/relationship issues; family dynamics; life transitions, as well as spiritual questions.
I use a range of psychodynamic modalities, and sessions will center on talk therapy, largely of an analytic nature. Through our work you will not only find healthier ways to cope, but also uncover deeper meaning and a greater sense of balance by exploring what has been unexamined, neglected, or shadowed. This will be collaborative yet guided by you.
In addition to being a therapist, I am a musician, and I value the connection between the creative process and psyche—I welcome creative and artistic practice to be part of our work. I also encourage the use of dreams and other images as a way to understand desires and motivations. I have experience working with men on a variety of men’s issues.
