Creo firmemente que usted es experto de su propia vida y que siempre tiene las respuestas y soluciones. Overcoming challenges while learning about yourself and your own resilience through therapy can be some of the most healing work. I understand the value of looking at challenges through the lens of trauma and how that affects all aspects of life. I have a passion for working with adolescents and athletes, as well as couples and parents. I am originally from Nicaragua and am able to conduct full sessions in Spanish, if needed.

I am passionate about serving the people in Washington county, where I have worked as a therapist since 2018. During sessions, I empower clients as we work together to identify and actualize goals in a judgement free space. I have experience in a variety of areas, but am particularly skilled when working with teens, LGBTQ+, and Spanish speaking.

We serve a wide range of clients and have clinicians trained in trauma therapy with experience working with adults, teenagers, children, couples, and groups. We offer EMDR, DNMS, DBT, and CBT approaches to therapy. We offer bilingual psychotherapy for Spanish-speaking clients. We also offer couples therapy and workshops to enhance relationships. We have several clinicians with substance abuse and process addiction backgrounds for those who struggle with addiction in addition to mental health issues.

Do you struggle with navigating relationships, low stress tolerance, chronic pain or internal fears that affect how you show up for yourself and others? My primary focus is working with people who have experienced narcissistic abuse, disordered eating, and/or depression. I believe people can change through therapy but many don't know where to start. I can point you in the right direction. Therapy within a Christian framework is offered.

I am happy to work with clients on developing more contentment and serenity and less anxiety, depression, anger, guilt, or shame. You might be having a difficult time accepting yourself, accepting the shortcomings of others or accepting life’s struggles. We use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy to dispute our irrational beliefs and create new alternative beliefs that are helpful to us.

Dr. Yanet Vanegas is a licensed psychologist trained at Harvard Medical School’s McLean Hospital. She specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents, and perinatal (prenatal and postpartum) women, and uses evidence-based practices to treat depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, ADHD, self-esteem concerns, social anxiety, autism, and social skills deficits. Dr. Vanegas also received extensive training and is a specialist in the treatment of eating disorders and OCD. She owns a private practice, A Secure Base Psychological Service, LLC, in Tampa, FL, and can practice in 39 states.
