Welcome to my profile! I am Sonia Ramirez, a licensed social worker in the state of New Mexico and a native Spanish speaker. My family, like many others, immigrated to Albuquerque from Mexico in 2002. Since then, I have grown close to New Mexican culture and have experienced working with diverse families, including supporting immigrant families who are navigating challenging family dynamics that often accompany immigrating. Here at Whole Self Counseling, I work primarily with children, ages 5 and up. I am passionate about the use of play therapy concepts as supports to empower children to process their experiences.
