Mindful Me

8 week group for children 4 to 6 yrs of age. Mindful Me is an early intervention grp for children struggling with behavior difficulties/adjusting to a new environment. The group will utilize core concepts from play therapy and mindfulness based practices. The goal of this group is to develop coping, relaxation, and mindfulness based skills, and to increase children's ability to regulate emotions appropriately and relate to their peers in a positive way. This group will be based on techniques and aspects of DBT skill building to provide integrative care for teens ages 14 through 18. Group therapy will include mindfulness based practices, skills training, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness which includes communication skill building.
