I often find that clients come to me when they realize that something in their life isn’t working, even though they might not yet be able to put it into words. Perhaps they struggle with anxiety or low mood; maybe it's more about difficult family or relationship dynamics, or the pressures of parenting or other kinds of caregiving. They want to feel better, but they are also seeking to increase self-understanding, to feel freer, and to be able to make choices that reflect who they truly are.
I offer a primarily psychodynamic therapy that helps clients understand the roots of their difficulties while also supporting change in the present. I integrate CBT, DBT, and solution-focused tools when helpful, and I enjoy working with people who are interested in deeper, more intensive therapy, including meeting more frequently than once a week.
Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if you’re used to being the one who takes care of others or just pushes through on your own. You don’t have to have everything figured out to begin.
