Hello, my name is Sophia Burton. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 14 years of experience. My approach to therapy is to provide you with emotional support as you navigate the challenges of life. In a non-judgmental and compassionate space, we will explore your strengths, challenges, and patterns of behavior. We will identify where you would like to make changes and will set goals to work toward those changes. Every person is unique and for this reason, my preferred approach to working with individuals is Eclectic Therapy.
Eclectic Therapy means taking methods and strategies from a variety of theoretical approaches so as to find the ones that are the best fit for you and your current goals. The approaches I work with most frequently are Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Positive Psychology.
I typically work with people who are in their mid-twenties and older. The types of conditions that come up in my work are coping with life changes, stress, anxiety, self-esteem issues, motivation, and grief.
