About
I believe in a person-centered approach to therapy to help you in finding balance and peace when life becomes overwhelming. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Greensboro area. I specialize in mood disorders, trauma, family, and childhood issues. My approach is collaborative and person-centered, as I believe each client is the expert of his/her life and much more than their illness. I believe in fostering people's innate resiliency through evidence-based practice. I work with all ages and with a variety of populations. I'm also fluent in Russian.
My vast knowledge of evidence based treatment models, includes: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (regular and trauma-focused), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Progressive Counting Trauma Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I work with clients ages three and up, on issues including: trauma, childhood issues, and mood disorders.
I enjoy utilizing both verbal and nonverbal forms of therapy. My background and training in play therapy, expressive art therapy and creative writing are important components of my work with clients. I strongly believe that nonverbal forms of expression can often be powerful clinical tools that can enhance the therapeutic experience.
