"If it is mentionable, it is manageable." I have spent over 15 years helping individuals find the strength in their voices and better realize their self-worth. I see myself as someone who can help create an emotionally safe, warm environment where individuals can confront their fears and challenges, as well as work toward both acceptance of self and change. It is normal to feel uncertain about the world, especially with our current climate. I want to help individuals feel more certain about themselves. For more information about the work I do, please visit www.DocShrop.com.

I use an eclectic approach toward therapy and I am a fan of what works. I can use clinical hypnosis for symptom-reduction as a treatment in your therapy experience, should you be interested in this. Multicultural counseling and helping individuals manage identity and diversity issues are also specialty areas of mine.

I have been a therapist in a multitude of settings, including community agencies, a veterans' hospital, as well as Vanderbilt and Cornell Universities and The University of New Hampshire. I am a generalist practitioner and have the ability to work with a variety of concerns.
