I believe good therapy is a bit like alchemy. As in alchemy we work to turn lead into gold: the heaviness of a weary psyche into the brightness of the luminescent soul. And like alchemy, even the most thorough rational or scientific understanding of the process is insufficient to account for psychological metamorphosis. I work with people who would like to use their capacity for memory and imagination as a force for change in themselves and their circumstances and I help people manifest their vision within the context of everyday life.
Fear, envy, hate, pain and nameless anxiety fracture human experience and stand in the way of love, understanding and self-acceptance. Though everyone struggles with these feelings at times, sometimes life circumstances make these struggles deeper, more unrelenting and harder to manage. I work with people living with these challenges.
I am a clinical psychologist with specialized training in depth psychology and dreamwork. I help clients develop an embodied understanding of the complexity of their own story- a story that includes the realities of the past and aspirations for the future. I practice and teach on Vashon Island and Seattle.
