Did you know that trauma can live in the body long after you think that your brain has worked through the stressor? Trauma living in the body can manifest as anxiety, chronic pain, sleeplessness, negative thinking and depression. Trauma can affect you sense of self, your relationships and how you move in the world. If you find yourself struggling with any of these areas, let’s talk about possible trauma and how you can address these issues.
Depending on your needs, I may use EMDR or cognitive processing therapy (CPT) to address trauma. I also use a variety of approaches such as cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and solution- focused therapies. I see counseling as a collaborative process unique to each individual. I see clients from age 16 through the different stages of adulthood.
In order to help facilitate change I establish a supportive environment that enables you to discover yourself, explore any conflicts, and resolve uncertainties. Through our work together you can achieve increased awareness, personal growth and more satisfying relationships.
