About
Healing crises occur throughout our lives and are often brought forth in times of transition and loss. I believe these times provide opportunities for development in our relationships with others and ourselves. Therapy is a healthy way of working through crisis and transition. I have worked for over 10 years with adults and children who are healing from recent and past traumas and/or loss. My training and experience includes working with sexual traumas, domestic violence, substance dependence, and co-dependency issuses. I focus on helping clients tell their stories and identify beliefs and coping strategies that are unhelpful.
Healing from traumas often involves addressing emotional, physical, and intellectaul aspects of ourselves. I use mindfulness-bssed and body-centered tools to help clients develop deeper acceptance and tolerance for difficult feelings and experiences on all three levels.
When appropriate I like to incorporate dreamwork and/or creative writing as a way of uncovering the stories that may be affecting our lives on an unconscious level.
