Sofie believes in providing person-centered and trauma-informed mental health support to children and adolescents for navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustments, neurodiversity, and behavioral challenges. She also offers caregiver support for building positive parent-child relationships and managing challenging behaviors by exploring the meaning behind them and connecting them to their child's emotional experience. Sofie provides a safe and compassionate therapeutic environment for clients to explore big feelings while learning new skills to regulate in healthy ways.
Sofie supports clients to reflect on thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, while incorporating mindfulness and self-compassion techniques. Through an attachment lens and positive parenting frameworks, she helps caregivers understand their child's experience and grow in their ability to co-regulate with them.
Sofie's training in Child-Parent Psychotherapy guides her relationship-focused approach to help clients process and heal from trauma. She is dedicated to meeting her clients where they are at and honoring lived experiences, family culture, and systemic factors to gain insight and tailor evidence-based practices to specific needs.
