I work best with adolescent and adult clients who appreciate a direct, to-the-point approach. I give lots of feedback and make my thoughts known. This approach tends to open up awarenesses that may have been unknown for a very long time. It is exciting to see this process unfold in individual psychotherapy.
Anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship and addiction are the areas in which I have special interest, professional and personal experience. I was advised to "write about what you know" as an undergraduate journalism student and I think that advice applies to doing therapy as well.
Much of what I know about psychotherapy has come from receiving my own help. Participating in my own therapy humbled me, solidified my belief that therapy works and opened my heart and mind to the possibilities of a good life.
