I am trained in CBT for Insomnia.
I am accepting clients for the Mind-body CBT Group. I am no longer accepting individual clients. - I strive to provide a warm, supportive, non-judgmental atmosphere where clients are free to explore their difficulties as well as reconnect with and harness their strengths. I aim to create a space where growth, healing, and transformation can occur. I do this by using a client-centered approach, listening kindly, and offering constructive feedback to help clients challenge self-defeating beliefs and behaviors.

These treatments are effective for anxiety, sleep disorders, trauma, and life transitions.
An increasing amount of people are experiencing stress, anxiety, and other uncomfortable emotions regarding the current state of our world. Now more than ever, it is especially important to take care of our emotional health as well as our physical. There are many different approaches to therapy and it is not “one size fits all.” As a therapist with extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I integrate this theory with other evidence-based treatments to address a wide range of issues. Most importantly, I focus on building a strong therapeutic bond with each of my clients through curiosity, understanding, and compassion.

I believe that all of the ways we nourish ourselves, through right nutrition, connection with others, movement and fitness, mindfulness, restful sleep, spirituality, as well as the right kind of therapeutic support, helps create a dynamic of healing and wholeness for the body and soul.
The most important relationship we will ever have is the one with ourselves, nurtured and cultivated over a lifetime. Finding the right therapist with which to partner in this journey is an essential foundation for building awareness and growth. I bring a compassionate and collaborative approach in working with adults who have a history of anxiety, burnout, insomnia, depression, living with a chronic disease, managing life transitions and those seeking their purpose. I specialize in and resonate with empaths and highly sensitive people to help them manage and navigate strategies for operating in a challenging world.

I have also successfully helped many parents and families who are struggling with sleep training, potty training, picky eaters, and children exhibiting behavioral difficulties.
Accepting new patients. Parenting, anxiety, work struggles, and day to day challenges can be increasingly hard to navigate and prioritizing your well-being can seem out of reach. However, your well-being and the well-being of your family matters. My approach centers on connection between therapist and client, connection to psychoeducation to learn new skills, and connection to resources to make navigating challenging circumstances easier. I work with clients with concerns regarding anxiety, ADHD, ASD, depression, and sleep. Long-term and short-term therapy are both available, and we will work together to find the best fit for you.

I'm Elizabeth (she/her), a therapist passionate about supporting clients of all ages. In our sessions, laughter and humor play a vital role. I prioritize the therapeutic relationship, believing it is the cornerstone of effective therapy. Genuine connections promote trust, authenticity, and mutual respect, enabling you to be your true self. I work with adults, couples, kids, and families. I draw from modalities like CBT, DBT, and IFS. I reject the one-size-fits-all approach and understand that every individual is unique. We can work together towards personal growth, healing, and empowerment.

Life experiences, transitions, and relationships provide both an opportunity to be challenged and to grow. In my practice, I welcome adults, couples, adolescents and families who wish to improve the quality of any dimension of their lives - from professional, family and parenting relationships to emotional, interpersonal, or physical challenges. Drawing upon specialized training focused on gaining insight (psychodynamic), building skills to manage emotions and behaviors (cognitive behavioral) and understanding relationships (family systems/relational), I work closely with individuals to develop understanding and identify goals that address the distinct factors that may be inhibiting life pursuits or interfering with personal, academic, or professional satisfaction and success.

Humans have the ability to enjoy life, be happy and overcome challenging situations. Sometimes we get stuck in the process of discovering our sources of pleasure, fun and relaxation, and when that happens, we suffer; in those moments it seems like the pain will never end. However, we have strengths that are yet to be discovered. I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 10 years of experience. I am bilingual, in English and Spanish. My mission is to help you find the strengths to support growth, empowerment and healing, mentally and physically.

Accepting New Clients via Telehealth! Anxiety, depression and relationship issues are common experiences that can impact our ability to feel like ourselves and live at our best capacity. Often these issues are rooted in hard life experiences or the accumulating stressors of today's world. Working from a person-centered and solution-focused approach I support my clients by helping them find connections between their feelings, thoughts and actions. I strive to create powerful therapeutic relationships as I believe this is the foundation of a successful healing alliance.

A question posed by my mother entering into any conversation growing up, whose repetition used to grind my gears, is now a question I find myself constantly embodying and valuing in my professional life: “Would you like me to respond, or would you like me to listen?” As a therapist, I firmly believe that you are the expert of your own life. My role is to serve as a guide, facilitator, and safe space as I collaborate with you to explore your therapeutic goals. Depending on what feels helpful to you, I am able to act as your sounding board, and I am able to challenge you.

Coming from a Lead Clinician role for a Virtual Partial Hospitalization (PHP) Program, I don't believe in an "ideal" client. In my previous role, we rarely had insight into a client's clinical presentation before their intake. I have learned to tailor my approach to each client while aiding them in learning emotional regulation techniques and interventions to sustain sobriety.

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists

How effective is treatment for insomnia?

The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?

There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?

There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?

Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
