Welcome! I want to applaud you for taking the first step to better your situation, and for taking care of yourself. I have over 14 years of direct experience working with adolescents, adults, and seniors suffering from a wide variety of mental health disorders. Some of those include depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, stress, mood disorders, and issues related to abuse. If you are brave, curious, and intelligent, then I'm your therapist! I also offer supervision as a supervisor of record for Licensed Professional Counselor Associates (LPCAs) in Kentucky.
I primarily practice Somatic Experiencing and neurofeedback. Somatic Experiencing is a body-oriented therapeutic model for healing trauma and other stress disorders. Neurofeedback is a brain-training method that assists patients in controlling their brain waves consciously, thereby reducing symptoms related to mental illness. I also practice EMDR.
Using techniques based on the pioneering work of Drs. Peter Levine and Bessel van der Kolk, we will work with your body and especially your nervous system in order to resolve trauma that prevents growth. With neurofeedback, we will restore your brain to pre-trauma functioning. I always offer an inclusive environment that will allow your healing to begin.
