In this age of narcissism and self-discovery, many are feeling isolated and alienated from others, causing us to reassess our relationships and personal choices. Many are disillusioned, anxious and depressed due to unwanted life experiences that threaten our sense of security and block our path to happiness. During this time of cultural and personal insecurity, some seek a space for guided reflection, discovery and contemplation of possibilities previously unconsidered. I provide services that promote healthy outcomes and empower clients to make authentic, self-directed changes that align with personal needs, values and aspirations.

Sometimes, we find ourselves buried under challenging life circumstances. When this happens, we are left with three options: remain stuck and undecided, fight through, wounded and bitter, or emerge stronger, wiser and more resilient. I love coming alongside clients who feel they are without hope, and helping them find their inner strengths to emerge resilient. I have experience working with trauma, grief, PTSD, pain management, postpartum depression, chronic medical conditions, OCD, substance use, ADHD, depression, anxiety, bi-polar, and marriage and family issues.

My desire is to provide a place that is set aside and safe as people journey into the deep places of their hearts and to companion with them into these sacred spaces. I consider it an honor and privilege to get to bear witness as people step into their stories and discover their belovedness.

My approach to therapy is one focused on the relationship between client and counselor. The trust within the session is the foundation of therapy. I have worked in inpatient, outpatient, crisis intervention and community settings. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. I am happy to take your call and to hear some of your concerns or struggles free of charge as I know entering therapy can be somewhat scary or anxiety provoking. Reach out and lets see if we can start your journey together, or visit my website to learn a little about myself. Thank You.

I believe in five distinct ideas: 1) every person is unique with their own perspectives and ideas, 2) we all struggle at some point, 3) as human beings, we all have within our power the ability to help others, 4) therapy is a powerful and useful tool, and 5) happiness is limitless. Whether I meet you in person or in an online session, the space becomes yours. It's about your wants, your needs, your struggle, your hopes, your dreams, your plan, and your vision of the future. My purpose in life is to help others achieve goals. My passion is doing so through therapy.

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists
How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.
Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.
Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.
What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
