My practice is Blackcentric, meaning it is a safe space for those from the African Diaspora. I work with high functioning black women with anxiety and depression. I also work with clients from a spectrum of cultures while utilizing a blackcentric orientation rooted in the family, that addresses race, gender, class and socio-political orientations. I believe in helping clients to find one’s own internal healer, to rediscover their inner strengths, and empowering them to improve their mental balance while helping them clarifying their existential journey. The treatment of complex histories of trauma, eating disorders, and attachment disruptions must include interventions that rewire the brain from the bottom up, somatic movement to reintegrate the body with the brain, and a felt sense of safety, in the context of relationship. This provides lasting change for improved regulation, mood, energy, the ability to be present and attune to others. Too many therapies focus on decision making, problem solving, or changing your thoughts. This is not how we are wired to work. It leads to disappointment. My evidenced based interventions promise to be different.

Research shows that over time, we come to regret inaction more than we regret any action...What is holding you back from starting where you are to work toward a different ending? I work to help my clients process relationship difficulties, re-parenting and inner child work, processing of grief and/or trauma, parenting issues, and assist with skill building for neurocognitive disorders. I specialize in working with anxiety, anger management, ADHD, stress management, improving relationships and communication, navigating life transitions, and parenting challenges. I have considerable experience supporting LGBTQIA individuals and helping them to navigate the challenges they may encounter with family, friends, or community. I also have worked extensively with parents on navigating challenging childhood behaviors and teenage puberty.
