Life tends to have a way of throwing us a few more curve balls than we’d like. I love helping clients gain the tools and understanding they need to make navigating through this crazy life less overwhelming. Sometimes when life's too much our brains try to help us out by sending danger signals. These signals can come in many different forms, including physical pain, anxiety, depression, obsessive thoughts, and much more. Unfortunately, even though these danger signals are just doing the best they can, they tend to make things even harder.
Thankfully, it is possible to retrain our brains away from these harmful "protections". Together we can work to rewire automatic responses by using modalities such as EMDR, somatics, lifespan integration, pain reprocessing therapy, internal family systems, and mindfulness.
Research shows that the therapeutic relationship is one of the strongest predictors of successful treatment. These basic introductions can be helpful, but it's hard to know if you might connect with the therapist you read about.
