My name is Shirley Leader and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over 25 years of experience. My practice originally started while I was residing in Colombia over 20 years ago and later I furthered my studies at Nova Southeastern University in Florida where I graduated with a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling and have been practicing here for the past 15 years. I am bilingual in Spanish and English. I have worked with a wide range of mental health related issues.
In the past 10 years my focus has been caring for clients with different concerns including depression, anxiety, parenting problems, adjustment disorders, life challenges and addiction. The Couseling approaches that I use in therapy are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered and solution focused processes.
My counseling style is compassionate, non-judgemental, warm, positive, and open to help clients grow and to make the changes they need. In my practice I have always stayed committed to helping my clients gain the insight and self-awareness that is needed in order to move forward in the path of healing and growth in order to improve their quality of life.
