You are the expert of your own life. Sometimes we lack the support or skills to create a meaningful life for ourselves. I am here to support you in cultivating your strengths and help you increase your toolbox of skills to build your sense of mastery and ability to cope more effectively with the challenges in your life. I am an intensively trained DBT therapist with expertise working with adolescent and adult women. As a DBT therapist I have experience working with borderline personality disorder, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self-harm behaviors, eating disorders, impulsivity, interpersonal difficulties and trauma.
At times we may feel like we are drowning in our emotions; making it challenging to think clearly or act effectively- often leading to desperate urges or behaviors to regain control over our emotions. I will work with you on decreasing emotion intensity & increasing capacity to cope with intense emotions.
In addition to individual therapy, I also run a weekly DBT skills group that focuses on teaching new skills each week to replace problem behaviors with more effective skills to cope with distress.
