About
I am motivated by a belief in each individual's potential to grow from their life challenges and become empowered to access personal strengths and existing resources. I approach therapy as a collaborative relationship between the client, who is regarded as the expert on their life, and the therapist, who becomes a trusted ally in developing understanding and creating change. A potential client’s level of comfort with me, in my opinion is the most important aspect to the therapeutic relationship.
I utilize a variety of modalities to best suit the client's needs and style to help clarify limiting perspectives, develop meaningful goals, and explore new ways to cope with barriers. Specialized training includes but is not limited to: EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Gottman level 1 and 2 trained and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Mary Sinquay Vyas, LMFT, is Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist currently living in San Diego, California. Military veteran.
