Greetings! I'm Dr. Antwynette Shields. I'm beyond grateful that you're choosing to prioritize your mental well being. After all, you only get one mind and one body! I approach therapy by using a person-centered, strengths based model. I believe that we're the expert of our lives, and despite life's obstacles, we all have the capacity and strength to function at our highest. I recognize how vulnerable therapy can appear, which is why I take great pride in creating a safe, non-judgmental environment. I ensure that my clients feel heard and validated while also challenging them to assess and work through unhealthy habits.
My primary specialty area is burnout and impairment amongst behavioral health professionals (e.g., Counselors, Social workers, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, etc.). We often find ourselves in a place where we're constantly pouring into others, but personally left depleted and burned out. I also specialize in Anger Management and Relationship Issues.
My non-judgmental approach and empathic nature creates an environment of comfort and freedom for every single client I serve. I aim to ensure that my clients have a successful session and leave feeling more empowered each time. I am your biggest cheerleader and want to see you reach your maximum potential!
