About
I’m Dr. Shielagh Hochberg, clinical psychologist & End-of-Life Doula in Naples, Florida. With a PhD in clinical psychology, I'm licensed in Florida & New York. With many years of experience treating anxiety, stress & grief, I can help you learn to take better care of yourself. Most of us have been close to someone who had Covid or lost someone to the disease. Others have survived it, may have long haul symptoms, and aren’t sure what to do now. Everyone has suffered to some extent in this pandemic. Some have lost a sense of direction. Others are facing death at the end of an illness & need to prepare & make important decisions.
As a therapist, I’ll meet with you in person, or by FaceTime or Zoom. We'll work on your issues, health, trauma & loss, separation or grief, and any crossroads you face with career, relationship or family decisions. I am a certified End-of-Life Doula, a professional who helps the dying prepare for and make their transition, even at the bedside if desired.
I moved to Naples a few years ago from a wonderful, hectic life & career in New York City, then lost my husband to Alzheimer's. I did clinic work with HIV/AIDS & addiction, & volunteered with Red Cross and FDNY after 9/11. I believe I can help you cope better with the challenges in your life. Are you ill & facing end of life? If so, I can help you get ready.
