My desire to become a Social Worker began when I was 12 years old. The Counselor at our school was also our basketball coach. He often smiled, appearing to have fun with my peers. During road trips, I had the chance to get to know more about him. Essentially, I decided I wanted to be him one day. Many of my clients have experienced chronic illness (including cancer, kidney disease), grief/loss, family conflict, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, loss of routine and/or job, trauma, loss of identity. Developing safety & trust will be part of our initial work. Your vulnerabilities/uncertainties are welcome, and you are not alone.
I am an advocate for those who struggle or were not fortunate enough to have certain life privileges, and believe in doing/saying what is right despite pushback from large corporations. Social justice issues are important to me. I have no tolerance for hate/discrimination of any kind, or my clients being taken advantage of. It starts with having a heart.
As a person who has experienced many ups and downs in life, it would be an honor of mine to assist you in achieving your goals. My way of thanking the people who helped me is to help others in the best way I can. Outside of my work: I love animals (especially dogs), long walks, fall and winter (snow), R&B music, watching movies, basketball (Bulls, Clippers)!
