Many of these issues arise from Complex PTSD or developmental trauma experienced from growing up in abusive and/or neglectful home environments. My treatment philosophy is based on the belief that we can all overcome negative coping mechanisms, thought processes and behaviors. I utilize various therapeutic modalities when working with clients. I am also a qualified supervisor for MSW registered interns who are working toward obtaining licensure.
I also offer supportive counseling for seniors who are adjusting to aging related issues. Often times seniors deal with changes related to loss of loved ones, adjusting to retirement and changes in their health.
It takes great courage to reach out for help! I have a warm and empathetic style of therapy which allows client's to feel safe.
