Sherri Coursey, MS, NCC, LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor in Decatur
Based on personal experience, I know that therapy can be a valuable investment you can make for yourself or for the benefit of your child or teen. I work collaboratively with clients of all ages to facilitate personal growth and changes that align with the client's goals and needs. For children ages 3-12, I offer Play Therapy for treatment of social, emotional, and behavioral problems interfering with normal development or overall well-being. I also work with teens and adults who seek help for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, and parenting concerns.
With children and adolescents, I have experience working with aggression, anxiety/fearfulness, depression, ADHD, low self-concept, and social issues as well as problems related to life stressors such as divorce, death, relocation, and chronic illness.
My therapy style is one of mutual respect, acceptance, and collaboration. I frequently utilize a Cognitive behavioral approach while drawing on Family systems, Narrative, Adlerian, and expressive therapies as they benefit each client. I received my Masters in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University. Please contact me with questions.
