I earned my Master’s in Community Counseling in 2003, am a fellow of the Harris Institute of Infant Mental Health (IMH), a nationally certified Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapist, and hold a WI-AIMH Endorsement (Mentor Level) for Culturally Sensitive, Relationship-Promoting IMH. I also work with elementary and middle school age children struggling with anxiety, depression, selective mutism, ADHD, anger and emotional reactivity, adjustment issues (i.e. divorce, moves, blended families), issues specific to gifted and talented children, sensory integration disorders, adoption, & attachment.
Ultimately, I am a relationship based therapist and believe that parental involvement is essential for the social emotional growth of children. I employ a diverse set of therapeutic skills (child-caregiver dyadic therapy, cognitive behavioral techniques, mindfulness, and expressive therapies (play, sand, and art).
Raising children is as challenging as it is rewarding. When social emotional growth gets off track is stressful for the whole family. I know that seeking assistance early is key to overcoming the challenges being faced and my office is a place of safety and nonjudgmental acceptance.
