No matter what might bring you to counseling, it is my hope to help create a warm, open-minded, empowering counseling environment in which you feel accepted and able to make progress towards your counseling goals. I'm grounded in person-centered counseling (which emphasizes empathy, acceptance, and authenticity) that aims to meet each client where they are. I also often utilize CBT, Emotion Focused Therapy, Solution-Focused, and Psychodynamic Therapy depending on clients' needs. I consider it a true honor and privilege to walk alongside clients as they pursue health and healing.
Most of my experience is with counseling women and working with couples. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) which is an intervention used to treat trauma. I also have concentrated training in EFT (Emotion Focused Therapy) for couples and individuals.
I believe something very powerful happens when a person gives themselves the space to slow down, connect, and be vulnerable. This can result in living more authentically and fully - whether life is smooth or you're surrounded by pain and suffering. I am also happy to counsel from a Christian perspective but welcome clients from all belief backgrounds.
