Hi! My name is Sheri McGowan and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Louisiana. I have over 10 years of experience working with children and adolescents. My approach to therapy depends on the needs of the client. I use a wide range of counseling techniques however I mainly utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). With CBT, we can focus on changing negative thoughts, behaviors, and feelings.
I work with children and adolescents that are dealing with grief, stress, low self esteem, anxiety, school issues, depression, and ADD/ADHD behaviors.
I aim to create a calm, relaxing, non judgmental environment for kids and teens. I understand it can be intimidating talking with someone you don't know about personal issues so I strive to make you feel as comfortable as possible.
