About
My interests include working with children & adults who have mental health issues including but not limited to depression, anxiety, ADHD, relationship and family of origin issues, and other behavioral issues. I also have experience with substance abuse and domestic violence. If your issues are in an area that I do not feel comfortable in treating, I will refer to another clinician. Although counseling is an extremely personal experience, it is important to realize that our relationship is a professional rather than a personal one. This means that our time together will be limited to the scheduled sessions that you have with me.
I use an integrated approach that includes existentialism, cognitive behavioral therapy, family structural therapy and narrative therapy. In addition to helping clients find meaning in their lives, my goal is to help clients identify and replace unhealthy, irrational beliefs with healthy beliefs aimed at fulfilling needs and meeting personal goals.
The counseling session is your time to discuss your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. The counseling process is an extremely personal and challenging process of which you decide what the goals are. My job is to reflect, provide feedback, and support any positive decisions that you decide to make. I can not wait to hear from you. Talk soon!
