I am a psychotherapist, LCPC; graduate from St. Xavier University with a masters in clinical community counseling. I received my clinical training within the psychiatry department at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Over the past twelve years I have engaged in outreach work with individuals experiencing a range of chronic mental illness including psychotic spectrum disorders mood spectrum disorder; and anxiety disorders. My clients appreciate honest, non-judgmental feedback and are able to gain self-awareness and insight, while working collaboratively to create and accomplish treatment goals.
I create a safe and inviting therapeutic environment that puts clients at ease with the therapeutic process. My approach is primarily based in person centered and post-modern techniques, including solution focused and narrative therapy. However, I draw from multiple theories to fit the needs of the client.
Its my hope that clients gain insight in to possible patterns of maladaptive behaviors and work to learn effective wellness tools and coping skills to effectively manage the mind. While some of the progress happens within a session, most of the progress happens outside of the session through application of insight(s) and adaptive coping skills.
