Paradoxically, we look for a therapist when the time is the most difficult. We may be coping with anxiety, distress or uncertainty about a crisis in life. Under these circumstances we are looking for someone who we can confide in, with whom we can feel safe, and who understands us. As a therapist for over 35 years, I have experience with these feelings. We each have unique ways of wresting with life's experiences. I try to establish a nonjudgmental, empathic partnership so that we can explore meaningful ways to improve your life.
In a confidential, safe, and empathic relationship, I help people understand past relationships, and actions that have gotten in the way of achieving goals in life There is no one way to "be," no right way to live. My flexibility in understanding the relationship between us is essential.
Additionally, I have many years working with the LGBT community, end of life care and bereavement. I welcome people who are struggling with physical illness in my practice. Exploring any relationship with a therapist is a big step. I look forward to hearing from you and possibly working together.
