My ideal client is someone who is looking to better understand the functions of their behavior and take evidence based action to help manage their mental health. I'm looking for clients who want to discover themselves and better understand the triggers that keep them from achieving their particular ideal of wellness.I specialize in utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help my clients better understand the function of their behaviors along with assessing the costs associated with their behavior followed by creating a plan to help the client use evidence based practices to help them achieve their mental health goals.
While traditional therapies tend to focus on fixing problems and dealing with pathology, my primary modality of treatment, positive psychology, takes a different approach. The goal of positive psychology is to build happiness and well-being.
I also incorporate client-centered, behavioral and experiential interventions into my work with clients. I work with adults, adolescents, children, couples and families. I have a clinical interest in men’s mental health and in addressing specific counseling needs of minority community members.
