What do you do when you know the coping skills to use, but still feel anxious? You're able to go to work and "be functional," but inside, you're still on fire. Maybe you've been to therapy before, and still find yourself struggling to get through the day. I work with individuals who understand why they do what they do, and still can’t seem to get better. With a focus on "intellectualizers”, trauma, and chronic illness, I work with folks who are sick of coping, and want to start healing.
I don't believe that therapy is only about teaching you coping skills. That’s why I started focusing on the “why” behind people’s distress. I use approaches including relational therapy, psychodynamic therapy, drama therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy to get to the root of your distress, and help you feel better.
