My name is Sheila Runnels and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) as well as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) based in the Jackson, Mississippi area and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with young adults, and adolescents, and specialize in anxiety, stress, and ADHD related issues, using Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help my clients make progress and start to feel more confident about where they are in their lives.
I have found that my style and approach is a good fit for teens and young adults who may be dealing with challenges related to ADHD, life transitions, or struggles feeling understood or appreciated by those in their circle of influence. This often takes the form of anxiety, depression, stress, and other unidentified trauma responses.
My communication style is personable, inviting, and comforting. I want my clients to feel safe to open up to me about anything, and I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment.
