Greetings, My name is Sheila Kendrick. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I provide telehealth counseling services to clients in the state of Georgia. I specifically work with adults who are experiencing anxiety and depression and have experienced trauma, using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. This includes military veterans struggling with PTSD symptoms. My approach to therapy matches the client’s needs.
EMDR therapy is my most frequently used therapy model. Through this model, I guide the client in accessing memories of the onset of anxiety and depression and the traumatic event in very specific ways which in turn helps them reprocess what they remember from the negative event and repair the mental injury from that memory.
My communication style is calm, nonjudgmental, empathetic, and personable. Listening is an important part of my communication style. I want my clients to feel heard and validated as they entrust me with their personal stories and struggles.
