"To bear witness" is to listen, observe, & validate painful and/or traumatic experiences of others. It is an honor and a privilege to do this work, and a role I love! I have been doing substance abuse & mental health work for 20 years. I specialize in supporting other helpers and healers; I also specialize in trauma, addiction, body image, reintegration after incarceration, existential concerns, & psychedelic integration. One of my primary roles is providing trainings, retreats, & crisis debriefing for agencies around the country.
I know therapy can be a huge catalyst for change, as I have experienced it myself! My primary modalities are trauma informed care, harm reduction psychotherapy, the trauma resilience model, mindfulness, Buddhist psychology, & anti-oppression.
It's important to me that my clients feel comfortable and able to voice their concerns- not just about their lives, but about therapy itself. I learn from the wisdom of my clients every day. I also get how traumatic and stressful it is to live in these times- the political always affects the personal, and vice versa. I'm in it with you!
