Sheila Baghbeh, LMFT 51697. I feel comfortable treating codependency and teaching others how that presents in relationships Women's issues including but not limited to fertility issues, pre and postpartum. My approach to therapy draws from a combination of family systems and solution-focused with an emphasis on being directive (think homework assignments, mental "tools" to address a variety of issues) all in a loving and accepting space. I have also recently been adding the different Attachment Styles and Attachment Theory to my current practice.
Most of my clients have family of origin issues that are either from their childhood and presenting issues in the present day OR the family serves as a source of emotional abuse towards the client in the present day and that affects the client's functioning (especially related to the client's romantic relationships).
I hope it feels like a warm and accepting space that I hold for my clients. However, I do have a "strong personality" so I am actively engaged throughout the session by asking questions throughout the sessions and being "curious" about why or how some statements or conclusions have been reached during the session.
