Hi! I’m Shawna and I am looking forward to working with you. I have my masters in social work and have worked with both children and adults in many different capacities. I am compassionate and have always had a passion for encouraging others to live out their best life. I aim to provide a safe and supportive environment for you to explore your thoughts and emotions. Therapy is a collaborative approach for fostering growth. I am deeply committed to providing a safe, inclusive environment where every client feels safe and heard.
As I pursue my social work licensure, I am committed to ongoing professional development.
I offer individual sessions within Forsyth County Schools and Dawsonville schools, in-office or virtually. I incorporate techniques from CBT, DBT, ACT, solution focused and play therapy. Areas of clinical focus are generalized anxiety, social anxiety, depression, low self esteem, grief/loss, treating complicated grief and navigating traumatic experiences.
