In my therapy practice, I work collaboratively with children, adolescents, adults, and families to identify and counter unhelpful thinking and behavioral patterns and ultimately help them to live happier, more successful lives. Using a scientifically supported approach, the therapy work frequently includes discussions of brain functioning and why we act as we do, learning about and practicing concrete strategies to improve day-to-day functioning, and identifying and changing problematic habits (e.g., with thought patterns, exercise, sleep, screens, social interactions, etc).
I primarily use cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused approaches in therapy, with the aim of helping individuals to recognize the interplay between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and help them to better manage the stresses of life. I also have extensive experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum.
My treatment is typically time-limited, present-focused, and solution-oriented. I aim to apply evidence-based treatments with all my clients. That said, I view individuals' difficulties through a competence lens, recognizing that we all strive to do well and feel good but sometimes struggle to achieve these ends.
