Congratulations on taking the first step to seeking assistance. Choosing a therapist is an extremely important part of your journey, so let me introduce myself. I am a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio. Since graduating, I have focused on the children/adolescent population in talk therapy and play therapy. Play therapy is a style of counseling that provides a safe place to express self through the natural communication of the age group/stage child is in. Play therapy affords the opportunity to teach coping skills and concepts on that same communication level.
Although play therapy has steered me to younger populations, I have been given the opportunities to work with multiple groups in private practice and school district setting: children, adults, couples, and families. Both venues allowed me to work with the individual and families to create treatment plans for all individuals involved.
