I began practicing in 2004, seeing children and teens, and working with their parents. Over the years I have broadened my scope of practice to include working with adults and couples as well. An initial focus on young clients' issues like ADHD, depression, anxiety, and behavioral issues like ODD and CD, has grown into addressing a wider number of issues including anxiety disorders (including phobias, PTSD, etc.), marital issues, depression in adults, and so on.
After years of building a specialty in trauma and PTSD work, I was certified as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional by IATP. I have also been trained in Levels 1, 2, and 3 of Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Collaborative Couples Therapy. I specialize in ADHD, anxiety, and depression as well.
I was with WellSpring Counseling from 2002-2017, but in the second half of 2017 I started my own practice: On The Rock Christian Counseling, LLC. My degree from seminary, combined with a lifetime of Biblical training as well as a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, has brought my practice a nice balance of faith-based best practices.
