About
My interventions and assessment skills focus on building healing connections in order to gain relief from various mental health disorders. Specific disorders include, but are not limited to depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and relationship issues. I work from an interpersonal and relational theoretical framework and believe insight into our core relationships can impact current psychological road blocks. While these insights are significant, it is also important to work in the here in now for problem solving skills in our daily life.
I work from a multidisciplinary perspective along side Eating Disorder Certified Specialists in order to use evidence based treatments to support recovery. Currently, I am seeking supervision to be an Eating Disorder Certified Specialist, as I have worked extensively for the last seven years with this population.
I seek to empower clients to choose recovery and live authentically. Psychotherapeutic work raises awareness of prior traumas, negative defense mechanisms, and unhealthy relationships. It is important to establish a trusting and empathetic relationship to engage in this work. My identity as a therapist rests on providing safety through the process.
