I help families gain knowledge about the cause, treatment, and prognosis of the major brain disorders. I help families learn about brain biology and to create a family environment that will contribute to a favorable outcome if their relative is diagnosed with a catastrophic brain illness. Recovery is possible today when the family is educated.
Unique to me is that I help train the clinicians on the Board of Behavioral Sciences of the State of California how to utilize the strengths of their clients and the strengths of the family members in developing best treatment practices. My work encourages clincians not to exclude the families when developing treatment plans.
